Cher, of all people, tweeted her support for Ireland's dolphins and banning fossil fuel exploration

Envrionmentally conscious queen.

EARLIER THIS WEEK, a Bill proposing legislation which would place a ban on fossil fuel exploration off the Irish coast was introduced in the Dáil.

Ireland has 250,000 bottle-nose dolphins visiting our seas every summer, and pollution isn’t exactly a buzz for them. TD Bríd Smith said passing this Bill to the next stage would “send a signal globally” that Ireland takes climate change seriously, and that we love Funghi.

Because we do. More than our own families, perhaps.

*whispers* I would die for you Fungie.

Anyway, what has that got to do with Cher? Not a lot, you might think.

But in fact, the singer has just backed the campaign to ban offshore drilling and exploration on Twitter.

Dáil reseacher and Green Party member Sinéád Mercer appealed to the singer on Twitter for support, and the Mamma Mia actress came through to her credit.

Sinead then translated Fungie’s thanks through a tweet as unfortunately, Cher cannot speak dolphin.

Let the record show that he is immensely grateful all the same.

OireachtasTV also tried to gain her as a viewer with this shameless plug.

God loves a trier, in fairness.
