Cher and Meryl Streep saved a woman's life in New York, and her response was pure fangirl
FOR ANYONE WHO may not be aware, Cher and Meryl Streep go way back; decades, donkey’s years, absolute yonks, you know yourself.
And with a friendship as enduring as theirs, it’s hardly surprising they have shared experiences which probably felt a little surreal; even to them.
This week, Cher, who will be starring alongside Meryl in Mamma Mia 2, recalled one of these experiences while appearing on The Late Late Show with James Corden.
And it turns out the Oscar winners once saved a woman’s life while on a quest to get their munch on in New York.

Setting the scene for viewers, Cher explained that it was 1983, Meryl had recently given birth and the pair were in downtown NYC.
Cher admitted she thought the neighbourhood was a little sketchy, but Meryl assured her mate there was nothing to worry about.
And loathe and all as we are to criticise our Lord and Saviour Meryl, she was wrong.
We know; absolutely terrifying.
So, what did the ladies do?
Thankfully, the victim of the assault was relatively unharmed, and according to Cher, overjoyed that her rescuers were personal heroes of hers.
Cue the relieved laughter of the audience (and James Corden) who didn’t know where that story might be going.
Team Cheryl, FTW.
