WE’RE JUST HAPPY to get a bonus at all, but employees of a company in China have been offered a rather unconventional reward if they’re top achiever.
According to Malaysian newspaper Kwong Wah Yit Poh, a company in Shanghai gave its best employee of the year the gift of a night with a popular Japanese adult movie actress.
The reward was announced during a company appreciation dinner, where the actress also appeared as a special guest and to take photos with fans. Executives then announced that the best employee of the year would have the opportunity to spend a night with her.
Of course, Asia One reports that questions about the ethics and appropriateness of the award were called into question by the confused employees. However, it’s not uncommon for big Chinese corporations to give generous bonuses and even cars at such employee appreciation events.
