THE CREAM of Ireland’s new music talent is in Dublin this evening for the Meteor Choice Music Prize Awards.
Delorentos, Damien Dempsey, Julie Feeney and Heathers are among the acts nominated for the €10,000 prize for the Irish Album of the Year, funded by the Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) and the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA).
Other acts in the running include Wallis Bird, The Cast of Cheers, Adrian Crowley, Mumblin Deaf Ro, Windings and 2011 winners Two Door Cinema Club. Each of the nine nominees will perform on the night, when the Irish Song of the Year will also be named.
Meteor has teamed up with MUZU to offer a livestream for those who can’t make it to Vicar Street for tonight’s events, which you can see above.
