People are tweeting the wrong Chris Evans giving out about Top Gear

And with the revamped show hitting BBC Two last night, people inevitably got confused

It got to the point that specific criticisms about the show were being directed at the Hollywood actor

And one of the classic cases of Twitter mistaken identity played out

Then, just as the dislike of Chris Evans started trending, fans of the Marvel actor thought it was actually directed at their man – so they started defending him

And then others started suggesting Hollywood Chris would actually do a better job of it

In general, the new Matt LeBlanc and Chris Evans Top Gear was met with a lukewarm reaction from fans

But, as was always going to be the case with relaunching an established show, hardcore fans were going to be hard to please

Still though, let’s take a moment to think of Hollywood Chris Evans’ Twitter mentions this morning
