Chris O'Dowd wins International Emmy for Moone Boy
ROSCOMMON MAN CHRIS O’Dowd has won an International Emmy for his Sky series Moone Boy.
O’Dowd and Moone boy writer Nick Vincent Murphy picked up the Comedy award at the ceremony in New York last night.
Shows from South Africa, France and Brazil were also nominated in the category.
Moone Boy is set and filmed in Boyle in Roscommon, and it follows the adventures of 11-year-old Martin and his imaginary friend, played by O’Dowd.
The actor tweeted this image after the win:
Meanwhile RTÉ Ten reports that O’Dowd will star alongside James Franco as Lennie in Of Mice and Men in his Broadway debut next spring.
