AND SO THE saga of Kanye West’s Twitter continues…
After losing many celebrity followers yesterday (including Chrissy Teigen, John Legend, and most of Kim Kardashian’s sisters), Kanye West made it clear that he really could not care less what his friends think of him.
John Legend decided to reach out to Kanye yesterday evening, urging him to “reconsider aligning himself with Trump.”
You’re way too powerful and influential to endorse who he is and what he stands for. As you know, what you say really means something to your fans.
Don’t let this be part of your legacy. You’re the greatest artist of our generation.
Kanye simply was not having a bar of it, and told John Legend where to go.
I love you John and I appreciate your thoughts. You bringing up my fans or my legacy is a tactic based on fear used to manipulate my free thought.
One thing that fans noticed immediately, was the fact that Kanye’s message to John Legend was green, rather than blue, which means that John Legend doesn’t have iMessage.
We’ll come back to that in a minute.
So John responded once again, very patiently with Kanye.
He wrote:
Think freely. Think with empathy and context too. Your words and actions have consequences. Much love. And since you’re posting texts, let me add that I have a new single out haha.
As requested, Kanye promoted John’s new single via screenshot. Plenty of people thought it was pretty disrespectful for Kanye to make the conversation public in the first place.
But Kanye insisted that he was trying to show that he “respects everyone’s opinion” but stands his ground.
But then Chrissy Teigen came along to make the situation a lot less awkward.
Referencing both the fact that John Legend clearly had not got iMessage, and the fact that John Legend’s new music video was filmed entirely on a Google Pixel phone camera, Chrissy joked that the entire thing was just an elaborate ad.
Here’s that single, if you’re curious.
Does this website have a promotional deal with Chrissy Teigen? She just seems like an unusual celebrity to have an obsession with. It’s like she has a weekly column on here.
Another Chrissy Teigen fart-smelling exercise by the Daily Edge in general & this writer in particular. Somewhere between sad and a little bit stalky at this stage…
