10-year-old 'Mini Messi' from Dublin heads to World Cup after playing with Shamrock Rovers
IT’S FAIR TO say a large swathe of ten-year-olds dream of walking onto a World Cup pitch, but for Ciaran Duffy from Sagart the dream is coming true.
Dubbed Ireland’s ‘Mini Messi’, he’s headed to Brazil to help lead the teams onto the pitch for the Spain-Chile match in Rio on Wednesday.
Duffy has been picked to represent Ireland as a McDonald’s Player Escort for the World Cup, and you might already have seen him in the Maccy D’s World Cup ad, which he filmed in Brazil:
Ciaran is also starring in a new ad for The Square Shopping Centre in Tallaght, where he outsmarts three Shamrock Rovers players (Gary McCabe, Simon Madden, Conor McKenna).
32 eye-opening satellite photos from every country in the World Cup>
