Ciaran getting a bit locked was the highlight of First Dates Ireland last night
THE SECOND EPISODE of First Dates Ireland hit RTÉ 2 last night – and it didn’t disappoint.
(Well, apart from the sound lad who got stood up).
Near the end of the episode, we were introduced to Bami, who’s lived in Dublin for the last year after moving here from Toronto
RTE RTE
She was on a first date with Belfast lad Ciaran
RTE RTE
Their date was going really well – he even explained to her the joys of Buckfast
RTE RTE
Or, more accurately in his accent, “Buckfawwwst”.
Halfway through, Ciaran slipped off to the jacks – and it was at this point we all started realising he was half cut
RTE RTE
The struggle with the (admittedly complex enough) taps was the first sign.
He had *that* moment of realisation when he was in there and caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror:
“I am ballixed”
RTE RTE
It was at that moment he started winning over everyone at home
Whoops!
We couldn't find this Tweet
We could all relate
When the crunch moment came at the end, you could see Ciaran had a brief moment of clarity as to the situation he was in
RTE RTE
Staring the camera out of it.
They both said yes to a second date, but Bami thought he was a bit shy early on the night. His response?
“It wasn’t shyness, it was more I’m absolutely steaming so I was trying not to make a dick of myself”
RTE RTE
And he really pulled it off.
He held it together well all night to be fair
Although it’s hard to know how long the date lasted afterwards
