THE RTÉ ARCHIVES site is a gem that’s given the Irish people so many nostalgic telly gifts in recent years.
Let’s not forget that’s where the Pint Baby clip came from.
Yesterday, a Peaky Blinders fan account on Twitter came across am RTÉ clip of the Cork actor when he was just 19 and playing in a jazz band and how music has changed.
People have fallen in love

If you can’t see the video, click here, and the full interview from 1997 is here.
“cillian at age 19 talking about his band is a blessing” is racking up the retweets
He really had the gift of the gab back then, and spoke passionately about jazz:
The freedom to go a bit further with music and to try different styles and different modes and get them into one formula and mix them down into something different.
That strong Cork accent got people thinking
And he looks exactly the same even though it was 20 years ago
Ireland’s Paul Rudd.
If RTÉ have any more Cillian Murphy videos lying around the archive, it’s safe to say the public want them lashed up for consumption as soon as possible.
