Cillian Murphy to perform DJ set in Skibbereen

Just one of many events in the Skibbereen Arts Festival, Murphy perform his guest DJ set on 2 August.

IRISH ACTOR CILLIAN Murphy will join DJ Donal Dineen and guitarist Niwel Tsumbu on 2 August in a one off concert at the Skibbereen Arts Festival which kicks off this Friday.

Dineen is a DJ, photographer and film maker renowned for consistently breaking new underground music. He first played with guitarist Niwel Tsumba at Electric Picnic in 2009 and along with their Hollywood star guest they should make for an interesting performance.

Now in its fourth year, the festival has brought together a diverse programme of art, film, comedy and music.

Comedian Colm O’Regan, will also make an appearance at the festival for another night of laughs after last year’s performance touring his new show ‘Ireland’s got Mammies’.

Other highlights include screenings of some new Irish documentaries and a Museum of Miniatures which features tiny works from all over the world.

Traditional music lovers will not want to miss the collaboration between Iarla O’Lionáird and guitarist Steve Cooney on Friday evening.

There will be film and graffiti workshops for teenagers and a children’s festival that is running in conjunction with the arts festival with make and do lessons, film screenings and other fun events.

Tickets for Murphy’s DJ set at 10pm in Connollys of Leap are still available and priced at €15.
