Cindy Crawford puts 10-year-old daughter's modelling career on hold

Fashion houses will have to wait a few years before benefiting from those Crawford genes.

WITH JUST ONE photograph, Cindy Crawford’s 10-year-old daughter was proclaimed as the next big thing in the fashion world.

However, design houses and model agencies will have to wait a few years to sign Kaia as her mother proclaims she is too young for a full-blown career.

During New York Fashion Week, Crawford told The Daily Front Row magazine that 10-years of age may be too young to begin modelling. She also had concerns about become a stage mom.

“I didn’t quite understand how much media play it would get,” she said of Kaia’s first job with Versace. “She’s too young to pursue a career…But if she’s 17 and wants to try it…of course, what can I say?”

Crawford, herself, started her modelling career when she was just 16-years-old.

Kaia doesn’t seem too upset about the wait. She said she might do modelling for a bit because “you don’t have to know how to do anything” but ultimately she wants to be a “baby nurse”.

Kaia’s first print job for Versace’s children’s line.

However, it wasn’t her first modelling job. Back in 2002, Crawford was filmed with Kaia and her brother Presley for a Diet Pepsi commerical.
