WHICH NEW MOVIE release is worth the price of a cinema ticket this weekend? We’re here to help you decide just that, with these trailers.
Good Vibrations
(abundantonline/YouTube)
For fans of: Music, record stores, playing the same song twice
Avoid if: You’re dead inside
Who doesn’t love record stores? (If you don’t, please don’t tell me or I’ll only be upset). This Northern Ireland-set film tells the story of Terri Hooley, known as the Godfather of Belfast punk, and how he set up a record store and label during the Troubles. He seems like a very interesting chap indeed and we salute anyone who brought the Undertones to prominence.

The Host
(movieclipstrailers/YouTube)
For fans of: Love, our girl Saoirse Ronan
Avoid if: You prefer vampires
This is the beginning of a love story, and a film about a world where humans are taken over by alien invaders – oh, and it’s written by the woman who wrote the Twilight series. Our own Saoirse Ronan stars as Melanie, battling for survival in a world where mankind is threatened by creatures who take over human bodies. Can love conquer all? We’ll give you two guesses.

GI Joe Retaliation
(CieonMovies/YouTube)
For fans of: Shaved heads, soldiers, action
Avoid if: You prefer GI Jane
I don’t really know what to say about this except, well, it’s GI Joe. You know what to expect.

Trance
(movietrailers/YouTube)
For fans of: James McAvoy and Vincent Cassel, hypnotherapy, dapper crooks
Avoid if: You are easily disorientated
The wonderful Danny Boyle is back, with a film about an art auctioneer who falls foul of crooks during a heist, gets hit on the head and then sent to a hypnotherapist to try and ‘help’ him remember what happened to a lost painting they were trying to steal. Trippy.
