Claire Foy said that she is “not surprised” the news that she got paid less than costar Matt Smith for appearing on Netflix’s The Crown became such a big story.

On March 13, Variety reported that executives at Left Bank Pictures, the production company behind The Crown, revealed at a conference in Jerusalem that Smith, who played Prince Philip opposite Foy’s Queen Elizabeth II on the first two seasons of the show, received greater remuneration because of the actor’s higher profile coming off his stint on Doctor Who.

Left Bank creative director Suzanne Mackie promised the situation would be rectified in the forthcoming third and fourth seasons. “Going forward, no one gets paid more than the queen,” she said.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Foy said:

I’m surprised because I’m at the center of it, and anything that I’m at the center of like that is very very odd, and feels very very out of ordinary.
But I’m not [surprised about the interest in the story] in the sense that it was a female-led drama. I’m not surprised that people saw [the story] and went, ‘Oh, that’s a bit odd.’ But I know that Matt feels the same that I do, that it’s odd to find yourself at the center [of a story] that you didn’t particularly ask for.”

Kim Kardashian shared a snap of eldest daughter North West with dad Kanye following the Marc For Our Lives over the weekend.

In the caption, the reality star called for an end to fun gun violence, and that the future generations will inevitably vote for law reform.

What an amazing day yesterday to take my daughter to Washington DC to see our future leaders speak. Having my daughter march along-side her grandfather and parents was a day I hope she remembers forever. I know that the younger generation will vote to change these gun laws that so desperately need to be changed.
Hearing these stories yesterday and meeting so many families affected by gun violence was heart breaking and I hope when it comes time to vote we all step up and vote to protect our children.”

TOWIE stars Gemma Collins and James Argent are moving to Spain to start a family, making their seven year on-off relationship official.

Queen of Memays Gemma, 37, revealed James, 30, decided to “make a serious go of things” last month.

“I’ve made no secret of the fact I really want kids so I don’t think we’ll wait too long before trying for a family,” Gemma told OK! Magazine.

However, before the couple start “trying”, Gemma is looking to get her health in order.

I’ve already lost a stone and I want to keep looking after myself so I’m in the best possible position to get pregnant when the time is right.”
