YESTERDAY, CNN MADE a bit of a blunder when it accused His Holiness of gaining a few pounds, while running a piece about his cancellation of several appearances in July.
The chyron appeared on screen for approximately thirty seconds before somebody in CNN realised they basically just called the Pope fat. And you CAN’T do that.
The caption was then updated to, “Pope reduces schedules, cancels meetings” before being changed again to something tactful like, “Pope has health concerns”.

YESTERDAY, CNN MADE a bit of a blunder when it accused His Holiness of gaining a few pounds, while running a piece about his cancellation of several appearances in July.
The chyron appeared on screen for approximately thirty seconds before somebody in CNN realised they basically just called the Pope fat. And you CAN’T do that.
The caption was then updated to, “Pope reduces schedules, cancels meetings” before being changed again to something tactful like, “Pope has health concerns”.
