Having lost his mother to a heroin overdose, Barry was subsequently placed in foster care – experiences Colin insists he personally wouldn’t have been able to overcome.

While speaking at an awards show in Los Angeles this week, 41-year-old Colin, who stars opposite Barry in The Killing of a Sacred Deer, praised the young Dubliner for the courage he has shown in the face of adversity.
Reflecting on Barry’s triumphs within the TV and film industry since his debut in 2011, Colin paid tribute to the young Dunkirk star’s grit and determination.
Barry was presented with an Oscar Wilde Award by Colin at the award ceremony held by the US-Ireland Alliance on Wednesday.
