Colin Farrell in talks to star in next series of True Detective

The Irish actor is apparently in ‘deep negotiations’ to join the hit HBO show.

REPORTS SUGGEST THAT Colin Farrell is being lined up to star in the second series of hit HBO drama, True Detective.

Deadline’s Mike Fleming Jr reports that the Irish star is in ‘deep negotiations’ to join the second season, which will be set in California and centred around three lead characters. Fleming said, while nothing is confirmed, he is ‘confident’ that Farrell will be cast.

Just yesterday, the eight-episode series achieved 12 Emmy nominations, including best drama and actor nominations for both stars, Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.

Other names, including Josh Brolin, Christian Bale, Amy Adams and  Jessica Chastain have all been rumoured in recent weeks to take roles in the upcoming series.
