This magical colour-changing cake has enchanted the internet

YouTuber CharlotteSometimes posted this mesmerising video of a cake that appears to be changing colours as it’s rotated:

Eh, cool. But how is this effect achieved? According to this Reddit thread, it’s just a clever icing technique.

The surface is like a zig-zag. All sides facing left are coloured with the first set of colours, and all sides facing right coloured the opposite. The colour you see depends on where you stand.

Well, it doesn’t half look magical.
