Customer tries to cancel cable account, has name changed to 'Asshole' on bill

Oh dear.

LISA AND RICARDO Brown, Comcast customers from Washington, contacted the company recently to try to cancel the cable portion of their bill.

They were having some money issues and wanted to reduce their bill.

Lisa told blogger Christopher Elliott that when she called to make the change, she was transferred to a ‘retention’ specialist who attempted to keep her cable and sign up to a new contract.

Brown said that at no point was she rude or think there was an issue with the call.

Imagine her surprise then when she noticed that the name on her bill had been changed from Ricardo to “Asshole”. “Asshole Brown”.

Elliott contacted Comcast on Brown’s behalf after she tried and failed to have the name changed back herself.

Comcast has acknowledged the “completely unacceptable and inappropriate name change” and refunded Brown for the previous two years.

The company has also promised to find and fire the employee responsible.
