Conversations with Amanda Knox

An Italian lawmaker has penned a book on the convicted murderer’s musings on marriage, culture, religion and her childhood.

A BOOK WRITTEN BY Italian lawmaker Rocco Girlanda about his conservations with convicted murderer Amanda Knox is due to be released later this year.

Girlanda met 23-year-old Knox  last December after she was sentenced to 26 years in jail for the murder of her flatmate, British woman Meredith Kircher.

Knox has reportedly written a diary whilst in jail, and this – along with some of her poems – will be combined with Girlanda’s conversations with her to form the basis of the 240 page book.

Girlanda is the president of an Italian-US foundation.

The book will reportedly focus on Knox’s childhood and her ideas about religion, marriage and culture.

Knox is said to want to become an author after her release from jail, and to adopt a child.

Girlanda says they have become friends since he began visiting her in jail, but say they never discuss the case. No details of the case will be discussed in the book.

Legal constrictions would probably mean that the case could not be discussed in the book anyway, as convicted murders are not allowed to profit form their crimes.

All profits will reportedly go to Girlanda’s Italian-US foundation.

Knox is currently appealing her sentence. She was convicted for the murder and sexual assault of 21-year0ld student Meredith Kercher in Perugia in 2007.
