There was a rave on Princes Street in the middle of Cork this morning

People were throwing actual shapes.

DOZENS OF PEOPLE got up early and went to a rave in the centre of Cork city this morning.

Called Good Morning Cork, the event started at 6.30am with “hardcore dancing, juice drinking [and] yoga practising”.

But by the looks of it, mainly dancing. Here’s a Vine from DJ Stephen Grainger, who was in charge of tunes:

The Facebook event page asked people: “Don’t be shy, arrive in your PJs”.

The event was organised by staff at Princes Street cafe The Rocket Man

… who were serving up food and drink. Here’s another video, this time from Irish Examiner journalist Eoin English. We’re enjoying the woman on her way to work at the 15-second mark.

Good Morning Cork comes on the heels of a similar event in Dublin called Morning Gloryville, which had its inaugural pre-office dance-off last month.

Morning Gloryville Dublin organiser Ed Hurrell told DailyEdge.ie at the time:

I think people are looking for an alternative to the daily grind. It’s a bit of liberation from that. People are beginning to see there are alternatives to going out and getting hammered.

More: Hundreds of people went to an early-morning rave in Dublin. And they were sober>
