This Instagram account highlights the 'forgotten, invisible buildings of Dublin' and it's gorgeous

Wonderful.

MEET CORNERS OF Dublin, your new Instagram obsession.

The brainchild of photographer Peter Staniszewski, the Instagram account is billed as a “social photography experiment” and a love letter to Dublin architecture.

The concept is simple: standalone images of buildings around Dublin minus the skyline or neighbouring buildings.

“It was born out of a want to give the forgotten, invisible buildings of Dublin a platform on which to truly be admired without any unnecessary clutter,” Staniszewski explained to DailyEdge.ie.

The result? A gorgeously curated account that gives followers the opportunity to really appreciate some of Dublin’s oldest and most iconic buildings.

Or as Staniszewski put it: “The bare bones and forgotten gems that make up our well worn cityscape.”

Staniszewski has been running the account since January and has shared dozens of posts in that time, each aimed at “peeling back the layers that blind us to the stories and secrets that lie right before Dubliners’ unseeing eyes”.

He said the idea to document the buildings came to him when he took a photo of an abandoned building on the Quays.

The building, individually, was striking and quite beautiful, but looked a little lost when crowded by its surrounded neighbours.

The account has picked up a few hundred followers so far and Staniszewski has even managed to sell a few prints out of it.
