This couple erected a 'weed tent' and gave free weed to guests at their wedding

The bar has been raised.

WE’VE ALL HEARD of a free bar at a wedding.

But a weed bar? That’s new to us.

USA Today reports that a newly married couple, John Elledge and Whitney Alexander, recently took the brave decision of having a weed tent at their wedding.

With the help of wedding planners, Bridal Bliss, the couple erected a weed tent. 13 different strains of marijuana were available to guests and a “budtender” was on hand to dispense the product.

Handy.

They even had pretty bongs.

How did they get away with it, you ask?

The wedding took place in Oregon, where both recreational and medical marijuana are completely legal. (Oregon is one of four states to have completely legalised marijuana use.)

The whole thing appears to have gone down a treat with the groom telling USA Today that he is still getting texts from people about how great it was.

We were shocked, utterly shocked at the response. People loved it. I’m still getting 15-20 texts a day from people saying what a life-changing event that was and what a great experience it was to have a smoke tent there.

“That was a life-changing event, man.”

We bet it was.
