Cure Me I'm Gay aired last night, and here's how Twitter responded
LAST NIGHT CHANNEL 4 broadcast a one-off documentary called Undercover Doctor: Cure Me I’m Gay.
In it Dr Christian Jessen – the doctor from Embarrassing Bodies, who is gay – travelled to the US to experience the “cures” offered by those who believe they can turn gay people straight.
It features characters like John Smid, who tells Jessen that he shouldn’t listen to Adele as she is popular with the gay community. Jessen also tried aversion therapy.
Usually, Twitter is a battleground. But Cure Me I’m Gay saw it strangely united, in anger at those depicted:
