Go on… what is it?
Cyber Monday is the Monday following Black Friday, and is a day of mega discounting of for online retailers who can’t take full advantage of the Friday.
The term was first coined on November 28, 2005 in a press release for Shop.org. Basically, online retailers want you to spend more money online today and it just might work, with Cyber Monday predicted to be the biggest online shopping day of the year. Irish consumers spent an estimated €39 million on Cyber Monday 2013.

How is it different to Black Friday?
While Black Friday encourages you to get into a physical altercation for a cheap flat-screen, Cyber Monday only requires a discount code and a laptop. Convenient AND safer. The main logistical difference between the two days is that shoppers spend most after 8pm on Cyber Monday, in contrast to the early-birds who attack Black Friday as soon as doors open.
Why do we keep putting zany names on discount shopping days?
Your guess is as good as ours.

So how do I participate?
You need some codes, but they will only be valid today. The Bargain Alerts board on Boards.ie is constantly updating throughout the day.
According to Ampp3d, the best time to shop online is 6pm, as it’s the lowest dip just before the big peak between 10 and 11pm and you’re less likely to crash.
