A CZECH TOURIST has taken to Reddit to write a heartfelt post thanking Irish people for their generosity after he had his belongings robbed in Galway.

In the post, Redditor NuriCZE details how his wallet was robbed from his Galway hostel. Although he had enough money for his plane ticket home and for food, he was still in dire straits.

And that’s when the people of Ireland stepped up to help him out.

I got a lift from Galway to Dublin thanks to an unknown van driver who offered to take me there with no charge, a fresh pouch of tobacco from a random pedestrian who saw me crying next to the czech embassy in Dublin (I was trying to roll myself a cigarette from the remains of my old tobacco and was unable to due to shaking and well… the tiny bits of nothing).

He gave a shout out to an Irish Reddit user, who also gave him free Wi-Fi and offered to pay for a taxi.

…thanks to a random redditor whose username I forgot, but who shared his 3G connection with me in the garden of Ely Bar & Brasserie and who offered to pay for a taxi…

And he had special praise for one Irishman who showed him the best possible hospitality in his hour of need.

He met with me for a pint the first time I came to Dublin and when I contacted him about being royally screwed invited me to stay over for a night before my flight, made me two extremely lovely meals, offered me a beer to calm down and was immensely helpful in every possible way. Sean, thanks so much man, you’ve done so much for me, I will never be able to express my gratitude. The stew was perfect and the sandwich was just heavenly, as was the “bed” of some sort that you’ve made for me.

In the end, he had this special message for the people of Ireland.

Thank you, people of Ireland, you made me fall in love with your country and with the mentality of helpful and happy people who try their best to help a guy in need.
