Dad writes excellent letter to principal defending children's absence from school
A FATHER WHO was scolded by a school principal for taking his children out of school to go on a trip to Boston is the toast of the internet after his response went viral.
Michael Rossi was in Boston to run the Boston Marathon and was accompanied by his wife and two children, Jack and Victoria Rossi.
Upon their return, the family was greeted with this letter from the school principal who informed him that family holidays are not considered excused absences.

In response, Rossi wrote an excellent letter outlining exactly why the trip was beneficial to his children’s education and why he would not be apologising for it.
He wrote that he appreciated the school’s concern, but assured them that his two children “learned as much in five days as they would in an entire year in school” and that he would not hesitate to do it again.

The letter has now been shared nearly 33,000 times on Facebook and Rossi is scheduled to make several television appearances over the next week to discuss it.
The power of the internet, eh?
