The article was published with the headline:

Sunrise host Sam Armytage dares to bare with granny panties showing a visible line as she steps out in Sydney … after slamming rumours she’s dating Channel Seven colleagues

And as you might expect, the piece provoked outrage from readers with many accusing the Daily Mail of “shaming” and “bullying” Armytage.

And soon women were sharing photos of their own granny panties to express solidarity.

Following the outrage, the Daily Mail amended their headline to this:

And included an apology at the end of the article, apologising to Armytage for including references to her underwear.
