Dallas hits the small screen again - complete with JR
TWENTY YEARS AFTER classic 1980s soap opera Dallas ended, the show is back – complete with iconic character JR Ewing.
US network TNT is remaking the show, welcoming back JR (Larry Hagman) and his brother Bobby (Patrick Duffy) to the small screen. Fans will also be glad to hear that Sue Ellen (Linda Gray) will also appear in the new episodes.
TNT boss Michael Wright said that the new Dallas wouldn’t just rehash old story lines but would focus on the new generation of Ewing family.
Jordana Brewster, of The Fast and the Furious fame, will play Elena who is set to be involved in a love triangle with the Ewing cousins (true to Dallas form).
Dallas was one of the most-watched TV shows of all time – with viewer figures peaking in 1980 at 83 million.
Only time will tell, though, if the show will be as popular this time around – or if the whole thing turns out to be another bad dream for Pam.
