Daniel O'Donnell is going to be honoured with a humanitarian award this September

He’s been nominated into the Scandinavian-America Hall of Fame.

DANIEL O’DONNELL is someone we would all consider one of the good guys. You just have to watch ‘Daniel and Majella’s B&B Roundtrip’ to know that he’s up for trying anything and is just a good soul.

Well his goodness is going to rewarded this year as he’s set to be presented with a humanitarian award at the Norsk Høstfest in North Dakota this September.

In case you weren’t aware, Daniel is HUGELY popular in North and South Dakota and has been performing at the festival for the last 10 years.

Daniel has been nominated to the Scandinavian-America Hall of Fame for the Humanitarian Award. Normally it’s an award that’s given to notable people of Nordic descent who’ve achieved greatness in their field and endeavour.

Now Daniel doesn’t have any Scandinavian heritage that we know of but the award can also be given to people who are recognised as being special to Norsk Høstfest and whose actions ‘have contributed significantly to the betterment of humanity’.

Daniel’s been chosen due to his work with charitable causes most notably the Romanian Challenge Appeal which had raised €700,000 in 2015.

In fact Daniel’s work to build houses for children with disabilities meant he received an honour in 2000 from the President of Romania. The ‘Officer of the National Order of Loyal Service’ is the 2nd highest honour you can get in Romania. In short, he’s a very good soul indeed.

He’ll be given the award at a special banquet on September 25th and he’ll be performing at the festival the next day. The man never stops tbh.

Congrats Daniel!
