EVER SINCE 1993, Channel 4 has broadcast its Alternative Christmas Message; a substitute for the Queen’s Christmas Speech if you’re not all too invested in the monarch’s take on the events of the previous 12 months.

And this year, Danny Dyer will be following in the footsteps of Ali G, Katie Piper, Edward Snowden – and perhaps most poignantly, five child survivors of last year’s Grenfell Tower fire.

Known for his outspoken approach to political and cultural affairs, the EastEnders actor is set to give his own unique analysis on Trump, Brexit and everything in between.

Channel 4 recently uploaded a preview of Danny’s message to YouTube, and it’s just about as ‘Danny Dyer’ as you’re likely to get.

This year has been pretty full-on, hasn’t it, to be honest? You know, like that shambles down at Westminster; what a palaver that is. There’s been more backstabbing than we have in Albert Square.
