THE PADDY’S WEEKEND shenanigans might be winding down across the world, but today is the big day in London with the city’s St Patrick’s Day grand finale and parade.
And leading out the troops was grand marshal Dara O Briain:
Everyone was dressed up for the occasion at Trafalgar Square
And Dara was shaking hands in a manner befitting the office of grand marshal
From shamrock trucks to green tshirts, it was some effort
And a real melting pot of cultures on a drizzly Sunday
There were signs and demonstrations for Repealing the 8th everywhere you looked on the route
And entirely appropriate costumes for the day that’s in it
The grand marshal was drawing a lot of attention out front, too
Look at him there, surrounded by flags
It’s going to be a good afternoon.
