Dave Fanning staying with RTÉ, despite BBC radio show
RTÉ HAS CONFIRMED that Dave Fanning is staying with 2FM, despite news this week that he’s landed a show on BBC 6 Music.
Fanning will be hosting a four part series starting from this Sunday at 1pm, on the history of Irish rock.
An RTÉ spokesperson has confirmed to DailyEdge.ie that Fanning is staying with 2FM and will continue presenting his Saturday and Sunday shows.
As part of the recent reshuffle at the station Fanning was replaced on weekday evenings by Louise McSharry, and he added a Sunday mid-morning show to one he already presented on a Saturday.
The BBC 6 Music show will trace the Irish rock scene from the 1960s to present day, touching on Van Morrison, Rory Gallagher, Phil Lynott, U2, My Bloody Valentine, Villagers, Divine Comedy, David Holmes, Bell X1 and Little Green Cars.
