LAST NIGHT, PLANET Earth 2 drew to a close with a stunning finale focusing on the creatures that inhabit our cities.

We were afforded a glimpse at the leopards who roam Mumbai…

The Peregrine Falcons that swoop around New York City…

As well as the langurs that can be found wandering around the Indian city of Jodhpur.

But the episode also came with an important message.

In his closing remarks, Sir David Attenborough addressed viewers to camera with a plea to ensure that we make our planet a welcoming, inhabitable place for all creatures.

It is surely our responsibility to do everything within our power to create a planet that provides a home not just for us but for all life on Earth.

Everyone was full of praise for Attenborough’s speech.

And some may have even shed a tear.

While others took the opportunity to pay tribute to him as a broadcaster.

He’s the ultimate dream Grandad

So wise, so softly spoken, so lovely.

And while David Attenborough might now be 90 years old, at least his advice is reaching the people who need to hear it

There *is* hope for the future after all.

Now let’s all just hope that David Attenborough has immortal powers, shall we?
