DAVID HENRIE, BEST known for his roles on How I Met Your Mother and Wizards of Waverly Place, has released a statement following his arrest at LAX airport yesterday.
The 29-year-old actor, was travelling through Terminal 2 of the international airport, when security discovered an M&P Shield 9mm pistol among his possessions.
After being detained and taken to LAPD Pacific Division Jail, the actor was released and subsequently took to social media to acknowledge the reports circulating in the wake of the arrest.
In a post which has amassed more than 13,000 likes, he outlined the details of the event and thanked the TSA for their professionalism.
I take responsibility for the situation at LAX today. I unintentionally brought my legally owned gun which is registered in my name to the airport.
I am so sorry for any trouble it caused, but I am appreciative of TSA’S efforts in implementing the safety laws that are in place to protect our beautiful country.
David continued:
More than anything I am humiliated and embarrassed that this even happened. But am thankful to the TSA, LAPD and all involved today for their kindness and their professionalism during this process.
The Los Angeles Airport Police responded to the statement, and thanked David for the gratitude he showed to officers both during and in the hours following the arrest.
@DavidHenrie it’s unfortunate you had to meet our officers under these circumstances but we appreciate your professionalism and thanking the police officers for doing their jobs not something we hear a lot of lately. Safe travels & God Bless.

David’s statement has been met with mixed reaction, with some social media users commending him for taking full responsibility and others questioning the veracity of the actor’s version of events.
It is refreshing to see someone admit they made a mistake rather than blaming everyone else. Good luck in your career @DavidHenrie #Integrity #LAXPD @PAPD911 @flyLAXairport @LAAirportPD

Not be that person but how can you "unintentionally" bring a gun with yourself?I really don't understand

The only way you could have accidentally brought a loaded gun to the airport was if you didn’t know it was in your bag. So how long was your loaded gun missing before TSA found it for you?

its pretty fucking hard to accidentally bring a loaded gun into an airport ya know. Were you carrying it or was it in a bag?? I mean there is no way you brought a fully loaded gun without realizing it smh
