Dawn O'Porter has branded her followers 'weird' after they criticised her for eating insects

‘I’d eat crickets like a mother f*cker if they were in more restaurants.’

‘I JUST ATE BUGS. Loved it,’ Dawn O’Porter told her Instagram followers, who number in excess of 330,000, last night.

We know; we all needed a moment to let that one sink in.

In a post which has sparked backlash, the writer shared images of herself eating ants and crickets in an effort to highlight “the sustainability and health benefits of eating bugs.”

“They use hardly any water compared to live stock, need less feed, no grotty emissions, ethical, HEALTHY! I’m sold,” she wrote alongside a series of shots, some of which show the insects resting on her tongue.

The ants were unseasoned and DELICIOUS. I can’t get over the power punch of natural flavour. And the dry roasted crickets were yum!

Despite Dawn’s best intentions, feedback wasn’t wholly positive. In fact, some members of the public seemingly took exception to the fact that Dawn was promoting ‘the worldly benefits of eating critters’.

In fact, the backlash she apparently received compelled Dawn to write a follow-up post where she branded her critics ‘weird’ for getting annoyed at her.

IT IS YOU NOT ME YOU WEIRD ANGRY WEIRDOS.

Following that upload, the writer posted a story, stating that she was in somewhat of a ripper.

“I am in the worst mood. Kids, pets. want everyone off me,” read the caption.

While the comments beneath both uploads appear to support Dawn’s decision, the criticism she said she received in the wake of the posts has clearly made an impression.

But what do you think? Do you care that Dawn tucked into some ants and crickets?
