Terry Pratchett fans have begun to petition Death himself

It’s what he would have wanted.

AUTHOR TERRY PRATCHETT sadly passed away yesterday aged 66.

His publisher Transworld announced his death yesterday afternoon. The second most-read author in the UK had been suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.

Tributes began flooding it, but it seems as though some fans just can’t accept it. Among the last few tweets posted to Pratchett’s Twitter account in the wake of his death, was this:

Well, this is unacceptable, so one fan has launched a Change.org petition to ‘reinstate Terry Pratchett’.

The petition is simply asking death to hand the fantasy author back, no questions asked.

Knowingly quoting Pratchett himself, the petition says:

There are times in life when people must know when not to let go. Balloons are designed to teach small children this.

While signers don’t seem to have much hope in the success of the petition, they’re signing it in their droves.

I suspect the chances of this working are quite small. However, I’m signing because if it turned out later on that a petition would have worked, and we hadn’t even tried, we’d feel bad.
Death was wrong this time. Most definitely.
