DELORENTOS WERE NAMED the winners of the Meteor Choice Music Prize in Vicar Street in Dublin last night.
They picked up the €10,000 award for their third album Little Sparks, beating off competition from the likes of Damien Dempsey, Heathers, Julie Feeney, Two Door Cinema Club and Cast of Cheers.
Twelve judges, led by journalist Tony Clayton Lea, were locked away in a city centre hotel for three hours last night to debate on the winner, casting their final vote at 10pm, as the live show was coming to an end.
