Oh no! Dermot Bannon said the next season of Room to Improve won't be ready by January

Winter won’t be the same.

ROOM TO IMPROVE is the coddle of TV shows. It’s an essential part of your winter routine to get cosy and warm.

There’s nothing nicer than sitting in on a miserable, dark Sunday night and watching some unrealistically wealthy couple in their mid 30s fight about windows or bricks to the point where irreparable damage is done to their marriage.

Sadly, we won’t be able to enjoy it next January, as we have for the last few years.

According to Dermot, things aren’t exactly going to schedule. He told RTÉ that “It’s been pushed back by a couple of months.”

To do the projects that we want to do, because every year we want to make the show better and we want to do more complex things so in order to facilitate that, we’ve given ourselves a couple of months breathing space.

Y’know, Dermot has just sold his old house and bought a new one… Maybe he’ll feature on the next series? Imagine. According to The Irish Sun, Dermot’s hoping to document the process of doing up his own house one way or another.

Dermot promises the next series will be worth the wait, anyway.

[The upcoming projects] are very different. We spent a good bit of time selecting projects this year just to make sure we were giving the audience something they hadn’t seen before. We’ve got a really good mix this year so I’m excited.

The show is still in the process of filming, and Dermot said that some of the projects they’re working on are about to “go to site”.

In the meantime, while we’re waiting for the next series of Room to Improve, Dermot Bannon’s Homes will be there to keep us occupied. He’s heading to Australia to film that over the next couple of weeks. What a busy man.
