EVERY WOMAN KNOWS that finding the perfect bra is a Lord of the Rings-style quest.
But did you know that in addition to your cup and band size, you should be thinking about how your boobs actually sit?
Lingerie brand Third Love has surmised that there are exactly seven common boob shapes, and produced some handy illustrations to show you what they’re talking about.
They’re NSFW, so don’t go past this friendly buffer if you can’t look at cartoon boobs right now.
First up, there are the Round boobs, which are equally full at the top and bottom:
If your round-boobed, you can go for unpadded and unstructured bras because nature’s doing all the work for you. Result.
Then we have East West, with nipples pointing outward:
Third Love recommends t-shirt bras for women with East West boobs, as they ‘help draw them in’.
Side Set boobs have a wide space in between them:
These best suit plunge bras, which do great work hoicking your gals into place.
And Asymmetric boobs are one bigger than the other:
It’s not that unusual! According to Cosmopolitan, trying bras with removable padding should help get the best fit for both boobs.
Bell Shapes are slimmer at the top, and fuller at the bottom:
These need a bit more support. Be kind to them.
Slender boobs are ‘thin’, with nipples pointing downward:
Plunge bras do wonders for these too.
And finally the Tear Drop is round but ‘slightly less’ full at the top:
These can handle any bra. Lucky is the chest that bears Tear Drop boobs.
It must be said – our eyes have been opened. Shopping for bras will never be the same again.
