THE CLASSIC IRISH pub tradition of including a hardware shop, a grocery store or an undertakers all under the one roof seems to be a dying trend.
But one place that keeps the tradition alive is Foxy John’s pub in Dingle, County Kerry.
They roll a hardware shop and a bike hire into the traditional pub setting – and it’s even on the sign
And it’s beloved by visitors and locals alike
Because it’s not often you’ll get a pint in such a ridiculously traditional setting
And the trad sessions only add to the atmosphere
Half the conversation could be taken up by things you spot on the walls
Foxy John’s was chosen for the Star Wars wrap party earlier in the year too – they know a good pub when they see one
As one Yelp review put it, Foxy John’s is a “wonderful example of Irish wit and hospitality
And another drinker noted, “Where else can you purchase a hammer and nails with a pint of beer?”
There’s not too many places, that’s true.
