10 reasons why the Dolmio puppets are the greatest onscreen family of all time

The Brady Bunch are shook.

WHEN IT COMES to great television, families have been a mainstay for many, many years.

Think about it: The Sopranos, The Simpsons, Modern Family … What do they all have in common?

Family. Families that make our own seem less dysfunctional and more together.

Like The Brady Bunch.

But even then, the Brady Bunch are a bit … Much. We need to look elsewhere for the epitome of family values. After decades on air, it’s time to show one family the respect they deserve.

The Dolmio puppet family.

While the UK market is seemingly winding down the ads, opting for Dominic West and a technologically-advanced pepper grinder instead (I don’t know either), the guys continue to be a firm favourite on Irish screens.

1. They make time for each other.

They literally relocated their entiring dining room to Carlo’s office when he couldn’t make dinner.

Wholly impractical? Yes. A lovely gesture? Also, yes.

Mama even went as far as promoting quality time with her own ‘mamafesto’, (see what she did there?), to get families to sit down and eat together.

2. … But they also have more family drama than the Lannisters.

Are Carlo and Sophia brother and sister? Or boyfriend and girlfriend? Or husband and wife?

Also, are Nina and Nick their children? Or are they their siblings? *insert chin scratch emoji here*

3. Papa and Mama are extremely committed to one another.

Despite not knowing each others first names, they are very obviously in love.

The words ‘relationship goals’ are thrown around a lot, but they’re certainly applicable here. LOOK HOW APPRECIATIVE HE IS OF HER COOKING.

4. They’re not afraid to try new things.

Yasssssssssss Sophia, WERK IT.

5. THIS CAT.

No words.

6. Mama fancies Martin King.

In her words, he is a “dreamboat”.

Who are we to judge, really?

7. They’re carb-lovers, just like us.

Imagine leaving your place of work beacause you knew your mam was cooking lasagne for dinner.

Carlo did that.

9. They’re not perfect.

As demonstrated by Nico’s complete lack of sporting ability in the below video.

A special mention to the person who commented on the video saying they “still watch this like 1000 times”.

Truly a testament to how captivating this family is.

10. They taught us the days of the week.

Because every day can be a Dolmio day if you believe hard enough.
