Touching video of dolphin being rescued off Achill Island
THIS HEART-WARMING VIDEO, taken by DailyEdge.ie reader Ina Kruger, shows a group of people coming to the aid of a washed-up dolphin on Keem Beach, Achill Island.
Last Easter Sunday, the group found a dolphin beached on the sand – still breathing. They banded together and helped the poor thing get back into the water and swimming. Watch what happened next below:
Two dolphins returned the following day, with another not faring so well and dying on the beach. However, the group were able to save the other dolphin and yet again get it back into the sea where it belongs.
Ina says of the rescue, “Fortunately, the second rescue attempt was more successful and the dolphin hasn’t been seen since.”
But perhaps he’ll be back to say thanks to the people on the beach – could he even, one day, topple Fungi from his throne?
