BASED ON THE 2009 novel of the same name, The Little Stranger sees the latest cinematic collaboration between Lenny Abrahamson and Domhnall Gleeson.
In a departure from their previous project, Frank – a black comedy released in 2014 – the Oscar-nominated director and the acclaimed actor have reunited in a Gothic horror due for release on August 31.
And, to be honest, the trailer alone has given us given us the serious creeps.
Set in Britain in 1947, Domhnall plays Dr Faraday, who is called to treat a patient in a manor owned by the Ayers family.
Alongside Charlotte Rampling, Ruth Wilson and Will Poulter, Domhnall brings Sarah Waters’ novel to life on the big screen, and reminds us that there’s little more frightening that the simple ghost story.
Oh, and Ruth Wilson’s smile? There’s your nightmare right there.
