Dominic West said that living in Limerick gives his kids a 'far broader existence'
YOU MIGHT RECOGNISE Dominic West from The Wire, or more recently, The Affair.
While the English actor was born in Sheffield, he attended Trinity College and his mother, Moya West, was Irish.
Therefore, it’s not too surprising that the actor set up home in Ireland.
In an interview with House and Garden, he spoke about living in Glin, West Limerick, with his family.
The 48-year-old said that Glin “enriches my life and my kids’ lives in terms of identity and continuum”.
Dominic is married to Irish landscaper Catherine Fitzgerald, who is the daughter of Desmond FitzGerald, 29th Knight of Glin. They married in Glin Castle in 2010, and Dominic describes the wedding as being a typical Irish one.
“The whole village was involved, with Thomas Coolahan, the publican, postman and funeral director, running the bar with gusto”.

They’ve since took over the castle after it failed to sell last year. They plan to transform it into a boutique hotel, and Vogue editor Anna Wintour is on the guest list already.
Anna in Limerick, what a sight.
