THE ABOVE TWEET was sent out last night on the main Dominoβs Twitter account in the US β which intrigued everyone.
It was the last in a number of pizza-themedΒ emojiΒ tweets that led to the announcement that Dominoβs in the US will allow frequent customers to order pizza through Twitter, using just emojis.
Dominoβs revealed the βtweet-a-pizzaβ ordering system to USA Today last night β and it will be rolled out in the States in just one weekβs time.
Basically, once they have registered their Twitter handle, regular customers who have an βEasy Orderβ saved in the systemΒ can tweet justΒ the pizza emoji to Dominoβs and all will be taken care of. Dominoβs will then send a DM back to the customer to confirm and the order is complete.
The CEO even told the paper:
Itβs the epitome of convenience, weβve got this down to a five-second exchange.
This could change everything, for so many pizza lovers.
Speaking to DailyEdge.ieΒ a Dominoβs Ireland spokesperson was coy about when we will see this come to Ireland:
Weβre really excited to see our Dominoβs colleagues in the US take their ordering service to the next level.Β Here in Ireland we pride ourselves on being at the cutting edge of digital innovations so watch this space.
Weβre still going to practice ourΒ emojiΒ game just on the off chance we need to do this soon:
