IN A NEW interview with UK publication Rollacoaster magazine, former One Direction man Liam Payne spoke on a wide range of issues – from Cheryl, their baby, to the obvious age gap between the two.
But most curious of all was the time he says Donald Trump threw the band out of his hotel because they wouldn’t get out of bed to meet his daughter.
The band was sleeping in the Trump Hotel in New York when Liam picks up the story, telling Rollacoaster:
Trump actually kicked us out of his hotel once.
You wouldn’t believe it. It was about [meeting] his daughter. He phoned up our manager and we were asleep. He said ‘well, wake them up’ and I was like ‘no’ and then he wouldn’t let us use the underground garage. Obviously in New York we can’t really go outside. New York is ruthless for us.
So he was like, ‘OK, then I don’t want you in my hotel.’ So we had to leave.
Well now
We don’t know yet whether the proposed meeting was supposed to be with Tiffany or Ivanka.
The claim has made headlines around the world overnight, since the magazine released the quotes
Trump’s representatives haven’t responded to Buzzfeed’s inquiry about the incident when they tried to confirm it.
It’s one of the more curious celebrity tales of recent times
One Direction fans, as ever, have taken the news personally
This is way down Trump’s list of priorities right now – hello, Angela – but the claims made by Liam Payne have certainly got the internet’s tongues wagging.
So many questions about what happened that fateful night.
