LAST YEAR, THE Adelphi pub on Dublin’s Abbey Street went viral when they installed a Donald Trump picture into their urinal, making a statement in the run-up to the 2016 US Presidential Election.
It went down well with their customers, and was a striking visual image:
But now there’s been a disaster of Shergar proportions.
Last night Adelphi took to Facebook to reveal that the Trump picture had been stolen from the urinal
Wait. Somebody actually went in there and removed the presumably urine-soaked Trump poster? Jesus.
The pub wrote on Facebook that they’re devastated and a reward is on the table for its safe return:
Somebody stole Donald from our urinal and we badly want him back. As a reward we are offering a €100 beer tab for the person that returns him to us . Our bathroom is just not the same without him and the enjoyment of using the urinal without Donald’s face on it has left us feeling sad.
Would be weird if someone arrived back in the pub with the poster and just sat down for a few pints – but you never know.
Who could have stolen it? It could be a patriotic American, unhappy that a pub would literally take the piss out of their leader. Or maybe it was a late-night prank by some lads eager to get their hands on the most iconic urinal poster Dublin has ever seen?
It’s been up over a year at this stage, so it had a good run – but they’re obviously desperate to get it back
We await further developments in this ongoing investigation.
