An elderly woman from Donegal found a fiver worth €58,500 and gave it all to charity
A WOMAN FROM Donegal has given a rare £5 worth about €58,500 to charity.

The note was discovered in Fermanagh, but the lady who found it didn’t see it as a lesson in finders keepers.
The fiver is the work of Birmingham artist Graham Short, who produced four of the new five pounds engraved with a 5mm picture of Jane Austen.
They were put into circulation in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
The Northern Irish note made its way to Charlie’s Bar in Enniskillen. An elderly woman from Donegal was its most recent owner.

When she discovered the value, she passed the note on to be given to charity.
Speaking to the BBC, Short said:

The lady, known as J, wrote:
The gallery wrote that the note would be auctioned off to raise money for Children In Need.
Now, three of the notes have been found. One was found in a Christmas card, and the other was given as change in a south Wales cafe. That means there’s one on the loose…
