DUBLINERS PETER AND Tracey were the stars of last night’s Don’t Tell The Bride on RTÉ 2.
They’ve been together six years – with Tracey being “the organiser” in the relationship and Peter being described as a “scatterbrain.”
So they were the perfect contestants for Don’t Tell The Bride really
Peter is football-mad – his interests are described as “balls, beers and bars”, but in terms of wedding venues, Tracey was hoping for a castle or something equally as fancy.
Peter had something else in mind
Yes, Tallaght Stadium would be the venue.
The best man was LOVING the idea
“If she knows me, she’ll know how important football is to me”
Meanwhile, Tracey was describing her ideal day out:
“I would prefer a GRAND day…as opposed to grand”
Things were just getting interesting.
One of the groomsmen had to Skype in his opinions because he was in Poland for a soccer match
Peter had also decided that he wanted her veil to look like a football… so he got out the paint and a sponge
And this was the result
With hen and stag parties done, we were on the home stretch coming up to the big day. First the wedding dress reveal – and she loved it:
“I can’t even cope that this is my wedding dress”
Given she still hadn’t passed the driving test, Peter had arranged a special car to take her to the wedding – and she had to drive
She was pure nervous (and not because it was her wedding day)
Finally, the mystery destination was revealed – and everyone was creasing themselves laughing
“She had asked for one thing – no football.”
So this was definitely a surprise.
But it was definitely a happy ending
People at home were wondering could they handle such a surprise
But they were such a popular couple, and pulled it all off
Look at the Ireland jersey cake for the reception
Well done lads, one of the most enjoyable Don’t Tell The Brides
Legends.
